Peter Thomas, Senior Retail Associate
Mr. Thomas has over 35 years experience in retail development. He has been involved in supermarket and retail development throughout his career. Having honed his skills at A&P in Buffalo and Baltimore and McCarty Holman in Jackson, MS he spent many years at Purity Supreme Supermarkets in eastern Massachusetts. At Purity, a chain of 55 supermarkets, 70 convenience stores and 30 drug stores, Peter advanced from Project Manager to VP Real Estate and Development.
After Purity, Peter worked for Big Y Foods, Inc Springfield, MA as VP Real Estate and Development. He was responsible for all development, maintenance, engineering, construction and real estate activities for this billion-dollar company. Most recently he was VP of Real Estate for Winn Dixie where he was responsible for new store development in the 5-state operating areas.
Mr. Thomas has extensive experience in all phases of development: site selection, market analysis and positioning, demographics, design, leasing, strategic planning, governmental approvals, construction, and disposition. His years of experience and expertise in many disciplines uniquely qualify him to assist customers with all their real estate requirements.
Mr. Thomas has a BS from Buffalo State College. He has been a member of the Bay State Medical Center Building Committee, Diocese of Springfield Building Commission, TOPCO Equipment Advisory Council and is an active member of ICSC.
